ABOUT YHES HOUSE
YHES House – Youth Health and Education Service is a community organisation funded by Queensland Government to provide holistic health services to youth and young parents in the Gold Coast Region. It has operated since 1994 in the Southport area and has a positive reputation in the region for improving the health and well being of young people.
While YHES House is a small service it provides substantial benefit to the community. It fosters a safe, friendly and nurturing environment in which both young parents with their new born babies and young people seeking assistance can feel secure.
SERVICE PROVISION
YHES House provides individual support; counselling; advocacy; referral; small group education (childbirth, parenting, health and well being) and health and welfare related services. The service works in collaboration with a network of government, non government, community agencies and private practitioners. The organisation advocates on behalf of the young people to health services, housing agencies and other service providers to ensure their needs are met.
